Title

Bring HeuDiConv to the next level!

Short description and the goals for the OHBM BrainHack

I plan to contribute by working on the Heudiconv tool, an essential utility in the neuroimaging community that converts DICOM datasets to BIDS (Brain Imaging Data Structure) format.

Goals:

  • Enhancement of Heudiconv tool: The primary goal is to address various existing enhancement requests for the Heudiconv tool. By refining the tool's functionality, we can streamline the conversion process and improve the usability of Heudiconv for researchers around the world.

    • Might also include enhancement of BIDS tools to e.g. provide helpers to rename/delete BIDS files etc.
  • Collaboration and knowledge exchange: Collaborating with others to improve Heudiconv will foster a productive exchange of ideas and knowledge. The aim is to learn from others while contributing to the community's growth and development.

  • Improving documentation: A well-documented tool is an easily accessible tool. By focusing on improving Heudiconv's documentation, the goal is to make the tool more approachable and useful to both new and existing users.

  • Increasing community engagement: The project aims to engage more members of the neuroimaging community with the Heudiconv tool. By working on enhancements, we can encourage more researchers to use and contribute to the tool in the future.

@yarikoptic Thanks for sharing those figures; they both look great! It would be excellent to have your project featured in the Proceedings 2023.

Could you please choose one figure that best fits your content and prepare a summary submission? Here’s what to include:

Title
List of authors with full names and emails (https://forms.gle/Ku3AVHcXvpUqVVkV7 )
Text up to 500 words
You can also add:

One figure with a caption (max 250 characters)
Up to ten references
Note: Title, authors, figure caption, and references are not counted in the 500-word limit: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OCzSL-z_kjMKMMAenCVjFS0Ka79rpT2EWF7Sd4VzHKs/edit?usp=sharing

Cheers!
