I am not sure if the online flux loading is properly documented.

This is a manual way to get the data

import gcsfs
import xarray as xr
path = "gs://cmip6/GFDL_CM2_6/control/ocean_boundary"
ds = xr.open_dataset(path, engine='zarr', chunks={})
ds

Check where the full pipeline writes this out.
