Please check that this issue hasn't been reported before.

  • I searched previous Bug Reports didn't find any similar reports.

Expected Behavior

If I add a priority to a task by using an emoji indicator, it should interpret that priority no matter if I want to use it at the beginning, end or elsewhere in the task

Current behaviour

It only interprets it at the very end of the task line

Steps to reproduce

Just test it, it doesn't set a priority, it just defaults to 3, thus I can not find it with the tasks filters as the priority I want it to be

Which Operating Systems are you using?

  • Android
  • iPhone/iPad
  • Linux
  • macOS
  • Windows

Obsidian Version

1.4.13

Tasks Plugin Version

4.7.0

Checks

  • I have tried it with all other plugins disabled and the error still occurs

Possible solution

Parse for the emoji not at the end of tasks line only, but inside the entire line

Hi @phinyxia, thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, I definitely agree this needs to be done.

We are tracking a request for this already in:

Please up-vote it with 👍 - thanks.

So I'll close this as a duplicate. (It's nothing personal - there are just so many requests for work on Tasks it can be hard to spot things if you don't know what to look for...)

The current behaviour is documented here:

What do I need to know about the order of items in a task?
