Google Calendar integration

Hello! So far I've only found todoist integrated with obsidian and google calendar. Would there be a way to combine tasks and google calendar? Many thanks!

My thoughts on maintaining the Tasks plugin have evolved somewhat since September 2023 when this was asked.

So I've labelled this as "Won't Fix" for transparency: I would not be willing to take on support of syncing tools - that means no implementation, and any pull requests would be declined.

The focus of the Tasks plugin is very much tasks in local vaults... - it already takes more than enough free time doing user support of the existing local features.

So it would be up to other plugins to provide this - and it looks like @Gnossos has pointed an existing one out above - thank you!

Thank you, but that is not at all what I meant...

To clarify

Time spent supporting existing Tasks features

• This discussion
  • today I have spent maybe 10 or 15 minutes on this discussion alone (including this comment)
    • reading user comments
    • thinking about what to do
    • and trying to make tactful, clear, unambiguous comments here!!
  • And that is just for saying "no" to a feature...
• Now imagine an existing feature where someone reports a bug
  • Then I may spend 15-30 minutes testing Tasks and confirming whether the bug exists
  • And then all the replying...
  • And if it's a real bug, I may eventually spend time fixing it
  • Which could take anywhere from 15 minutes to many days
• And I typically get 1-5 of the above per day (between Issues and Discussions)

Time cost of support for a big new feature like this

Adding support for a feature like this would require:

• Implementing the feature
• Testing it
• Writing Documentation
• Doing ongoing user support of another big feature
• Also, there would be a lot of questions from users who have problems setting up their sync

Focusing on "Core" Tasks functionality

That volume of volunteer work is why we need to keep Tasks focussed on core functionality.
