Novo has the potential to be a seriously great brand, though the current first impression is very rough around the edges – and that makes sense, because the team is focused on the node software code. I'm a long-time web & graphic designer with a passion for IU/UX, and I'd love the opportunity to elevate the aesthetics of both the Novo logo and the website, by making a series of refinements and changes to the current designs. I believe I can deliver that great first impression for Novo.

So far I've been focused on refining the logo's design. I wanted to sharpen things up and make some subtle key tweaks, while retaining the spirit of the original version. Because a resolution-independant .SVG wasn’t available, I set out to create one for the community. I improved the symmetry, added detailing to the feathers and head, reshaped the feathers to be more flame-like, sharpened up all the edges, and tweaked the colors.

Here's where I'm at so far, this is a work-in-progress in it's early stages, I just wanted to get this up so that people could start playing around with it. All feedback is appreciated.

So far, this version of the logo has been adopted by Volt Wallet, Tswap, Novo's Discord, Novo's Telegram and Novo's Twitter Community. I intend to share the files with Twetch and RelayX shortly, after I make a few slight tweaks.

UPDATE

Since publishing v0.1 of the logo, I've received a lot of great feedback over discord and telegram. Based on those suggestions, I've made a series of tweaks to the design. You can download the latest version below.

v0.2 changes

• Length of feathers tweaked so that the bird fits perfectly within a circle (previously a square).
• Feather ordering changed to match original design.
• Feather spots tweaked (also now hidden by default).
• Reshaped the bird's head (to appear less mouth-like).
• General outline refinements throughout design.
• Color palette simplified (still in progress).
• Optional circle and square background included.
