Bug description

It happend 2 times in the last 2 years on different client/server/os versions - nextcloud sync some new folder into wrong location. In the first case, 350gb of privat photos 2 years ago (PC - nc server). In the last case, 1,5tb of business client data (Mac OS server to nc server - here some very important contract data appeared in a public working directory). There are more cases in the nextcloud Facebook community!

I'm going to take a wild guess you're referring to the standard Desktop client and transfer this over to their repository.

Unfortunately though it's going to be challenging to work on this without reproduction steps or, at the very least, the configuration of the client and server. Ideally logs from the client or, at the very least, the server during one of these events.

Yes, it is the standard client and standard configuration. Unfortunately, the problem with the directories was only discovered days and weeks later without the log files being backed up. As I said - there were other cases of people telling about it in the Facebook community. Maybe these people will also report about it here.
