Mac Client: Deleting of virtual files not always possible #3231

Hello,

I use the mac desktop client version 3.2.0 with virtual file plugin enabled. Nextcloud Server is version 20.0.8.

When using the virtual file plugin I have a problem when deleting files stored on the server only.

So the case is, that I upload a file to the nextcloud server from my phone. This file will then be synced as ".nextcloud" file to my mac client. This works great. Problem is that when I delete this file using the mac client the file be synced to the mac again immediately. So I am not able to delete these files using the mac client.

The only workaround is to login to the server an delete the files on the server.

Would be great if you could fix this.

Thanks a lot!

Frank.

I have tested this again with client version 3.4.1 and server version 23. This bug does still exist.

This issue still exist with client version 3.13.0 and server version 28.0.4. On a client where VFS is switched off all files are deleted and synced normally. Deleting a .nextcloud file om a VFS enabled client immediately puts back the file.

Please see #6656.
There's a dedicated installer for the VFS on macOS which differs from the legacy one based on ".nextcloud" files.
