I just learned from @dobermai at 2023 IoT Trends Part 1 | Adoption of Integration-friendly IIoT Standards and Protocols about the Announcement of Discontinuing Google Cloud IoT Core Service.
Google will retire the service on the 16th of August, 2023. There is also a Hacker News thread about it.
