Project status

We are interested in this project and eventually available to perform an integration with Open Journal System (https://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/).
The current status of the project is not clear, the latest activities are dated at the end of 2016. Is the project still running? looking to the architecture diagram a global role is assigned to CrossRef that should ask authors to claim their paper roles /badges but it is not yet done as far as I know. There is an updated timeline? do it make sense for the single journal to manage the role claiming and release the badge using a local badge server and/or badgr.io?

I think that @acabunoc and @josmas are in the best position to answer the question of project status; as far as I know all the rest of us are more-or-less transient volunteer contributors (i.e., as part of hackathons and such).

Hey there, I personally haven't had any time to put into this for a good while. We did complete the badgr migration, although we have not deployed it yet.

There is some potential interest in continuing work in the badgr library (cc @Wardormeur), which is very bare-bones at the moment, which would benefit this project as well.

I'd be happy to walk people through set up and getting up and running if you are interested in integration tasks.

We're waiting on our side for further development on badgr side and will very likely work with/on https://github.com/mozillascience/badgr-client
That doesn't help directly PaperBadge per se, but could unfold an upgrade down the line to a more recent version of Badgr
