WAW cities. translating and populating them

We did an attempt to translate the WAW database to Spanish but because of the problems saving, the process got stopped.

One it is fixed, how to handle cities? should they be translated? They should, as different languages call them differently (obvious!). Is there a better process than translate them manually? Is there a better process than update them manually? Should we use existing databases of cities/countries?
