It would be useful to have a convenient way to run benchmarks to watch for regressions and potentially improve performance even further. I think there are few low-hanging fruits but I don't know for sure without measuring.
I'm not sure what's the best way, perhaps docker images. I will have to look around to see what others are using in different libraries, blog posts etc.
