It would be useful to have a convenient way to run benchmarks to watch for regressions and potentially improve performance even further. I think there are few low-hanging fruits but I don't know for sure without measuring.

I'm not sure what's the best way, perhaps docker images. I will have to look around to see what others are using in different libraries, blog posts etc.

Hey Avasil, I will try to pick this up. I will start with checking some other repos and going through micro-benchmarkings for Kafka in general.
