Running the tests is slow in the US

@constantinpape I am trying to run the tests from San Francisco and it is very slow. @axtimwalde reported the same experience from within Janelia. I guess this is due to fetching the data from Europe? Do you have an idea what we could do to improve this?

mvn clean install takes 2 minutes for me here (with tests taking most of that time). Not sure if you count this as slow or fast. In any case, if you want to speed this up you could ask Josep if there's any setting on the EMBL S3 that would improve the data access speed in the us.
(But the far simpler solution is indeed -DskipTests and to rely on the CI to run the tests ;) )
