I want to upload the report such that it is able to refresh data. The article references Import mode vs DirectQuery mode, and then supplying the credentials for the dataset.

Is this possible with CLI?

Hello,

Yes, this is very much possible.

All you have to do is 'update connection' for the correct data-set.

You can do so by using 'powerbi update-connection'
