MGBA will not start if a Amazon Luna Controller is connected to my pc at least via bluetooth. If you turn of the controller it turns on. If you turn it on after MGBA boots it boots right up

This is SDL's fault, you'll have to report it there.

anyway to get crash logs for it so I can pass it along?

The logs slouken wants are from a debugger attached build of your own.

there is ways to get app crash dumps to create by setting a reg key, but you'll still need a debug or release with debugging info build.

@slowe4583 Can you generate a Bug Report zip file with File > Report Bug and attach it here? I got my hands on a Luna Controller (I was waiting to do that before really giving any advice...) and can't reproduce on either 0.10.3 or latest dev on Windows 10 connected via Bluetooth.

It seems there's some driver installer that Amazon distributes that I didn't use, so I don't know if you were using that or not--I was in plain bluetooth mode, which is not the default mode on powering it up.
