We are not going to invest significantly on MK anymore.

We actually need this functionality to implement ooni/probe-engine#810. Specifically, it's very handy to have a known-good build of MK that works for Linux. So, I'm removing the wontfix flag and reopening.

(This is surprisingly not super simple because -static means that libtool actually links dynamically with existing shared libraries, and -all-static, which is documented, causes a failure in the ./configure script.)
