I installed on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. I had to look up the instructions:

  1. untar the tgz to get the .deb in /tmp.
  2. sudo apt-get install /tmp/Cricket_2.6.1_all.deb

This should be prominently documented -- if not on the download page, there should be a pointer to the place where it's documented.

OK, We will add the required instructions to install the application on Ubuntu.
