This doesn't happen on Linux and Windows.

Apparently, in OSX, the Qt resizeEvent works differently than Linux and doesn't allow to resize a window down if the QWidgets layout doesn't allow it.
So basically the SimpleDesk can only become bigger (horizontally) but not smaller :(
