The thumbnail should represent the real image and not another.
Below: TN = thumbnail
Actual behaviour
Sometimes, overwriting an image with another image with the same name, despite different size and date, the image keeps the previous TN and F5 doesn't solve the problem.
When this happens, you double click the TN and Eye of Mate shows you the right new image that is different from the TN.
Making copy/paste of the image with the wrong TN the new file has the right TN. Deleting the original and renaming the copy with the name of the original, it seems to keep the right TN, but pressing F5 the wrong TN is back.
Moving the image with the wrong TN in another directory, the TN is right and, if not, F5 solve the problem. However moving such image back in the original directory and wrong TN is back.
Steps to reproduce the behaviour
Overwrite an image with another image. Not always happens and I can't find why. I've seen this problem debugging a software where the images were written by apache->php with the standard upload method.
MATE general version
1.26.1-1
Package version
1.26.1-1+deb12u1
Linux Distribution
Debian Bookworm
