I forked this project to revive it. I added multi table support, intro and outro markdown/unsafe HTML among a few other notable things. The singular table is deprecated, but has backwards compatibility to not break anyone using it. See https://github.com/go-hermes/hermes

Oh, I also bumped the go version to 1.22 and implemented the use of static FS so we can break the template files out. Future implementation may include custom theming and injectable css styles. Only notable injectable is the email body width overrides.
