I would be interested in how this plan could be put together with a kayak ergometer. Actually, the current measurements would be sufficient in their entirety, only the measurement of the work of the right and left hand would be good somehow. Thank you for your reply in advance.

It seems that KayakPro has been tested. I tested this with KayakFirst ergo that works too.

I dont think its possible to measure left and right hand work (or measure with a decent degree of accuracy) as the way work (power) is measured cannot differentiate between the two sides. Currently all metrics are measured from the flywheel rotation speed that is not aware of which hand pulls.

To set this up, it is necessary to have an extra sginal/sensor that enables differentiation between left and right pull. So the actual flywheel acceleration can be attributed to the correct side.

Other alternative is that strain gauges would be required for measuring the two hands separately. I have heard that https://olddanube.com/ have done something like that with ArguStress and https://thepaddlemate.com/ has these pods that can be glued to the paddle to measure pull force and pull force symmetry. But never tried these particularly.

My question regarding the settings is whether the 5 weba kayak ergometers are for ergometers, or whether it is possible to have the ergometers work with general settings, since during a training session 2-3 different kids can play with the swelldoneapp.

In the manual the setting seems to be very personalised, so the physical abilities of the paddler will have a big influence on the calibration. In my case, several rowers will be working on one ergometer.

The most important settings that drive speed, distance etc. are per machine. Rower's physical abilities are irrelevnt. Only for some HR and calorie related settings are user based but you can skip those.

The next mission will be to connect the polar h9 heart rate belts, but I'm not there yet. Is there anything I should pay close attention to beforehand?
