When running the setup_kind_cluster.sh script, it fails to start containers. For this report, it was the nats containers that were failing, but it might happen on any container. The underlying error is too many open files.
This seems to only happen on KinD+Ubuntu, and it is documented here. The solution seems to be to update the system limits as described in that doc.
The script could detect the host OS and at least show a warning and link to the doc
