transferring 64MiB files takes a long time on the current networking model. consider defaulting to a lower compression level that uses a smaller dictionary size, e.g. 32MiB and check if the compression ratio difference is anything more than nominal. then consider making a higher compression rate an option. currently, the highest compression rate is defaulted.
