DO:
- /C:32k possible
- different label, some programs have problems with the space and dot
- option to select the label to use
- MS-DOS 7.0 long file names support
TEST FOR RELEASE:
- SRDUMMY.SYS (DOS 3.30 and DOS 6.0)
- NU 7.0 with SRDUMMY.SYS
- Find device driver loader
DOCUMENT!!
- Windows 3.1 Enhanced mode messes up with SRDISK. Only small versions
without DISKCOPY compatibility work if you do not touch the disk with
SRDISK.EXE.
TEST!!
- Disk allocating under DV. Does DV free the memory allocated to disk?
- Make DOS 3.3 boot floppy that uses TLB to load rdisk.sys high.
- /SECTORSIZE ja /SECTORS
- /O and directory entries
- Stacker with high compression
FIX!!
- Check parameters /S:128 /D:1024 which gives 256 sector root directory!
- /MAXSIZE determines root directory size by the old size...
- SRDISK.EXE should have some code to check if the drive letter is
correct. Perhaps IOCTL would be good for that. At least make it walk the
drive chain up to see how many block devices are there.
- Warn if the drive to be resized is a substed one and do not save the
directory or otherwise access it through DOS if it is.
- Updates boot sector although it is going to be complitely rewritten.
DO!!
- COMPRESSION
- Make a chart of what SRDISK does in different situations.
- Think about adding a variable into srdisk.exe to tell what we are
doing. Values like: nothing, resize, clear, disable, done?
- Make a version of device driver into which can be copied an image of
the disk to be created when the driver is loaded into memory. This is
needed on diskless workstations to get files to RAMDisk in CONFIG.SYS.
- Make one device driver support optionally many disks.
- Make real help system to list the options with descriptions.
- If diskcopied disk has sectors marked as bad, resizing could free
them so that the disk can be resized for dumping onto different size
disk.
- Examine COMBI to see if it could be later used as SRDISK device
driver. Let the author of COMBI do the exporting...
- Memory alloc must find the largest possible amount of memory to
allocate if the first attempt fails.
- Make a real boot sector that will for example dispatch to boot from
HD. Else INT 19h is the right procedure to restart boot.
- Catch the Break! See first if there is any point the break can
interrupt process.
- Check if there is any possibility for errors when /M has been used and
crash() tries to recreate the old format.
- Check that file size and cluster chain lenght match.
- Should test if lost clusters past end of disk after resize?
else:
- Change to AMIS system. I.e. multiplex interrupt 2Dh.
- Add a flag C_PRESERVE to tell if the memory preserved it's contents
when the size is changed (i.e. malloc is called). The flags of appended
drivers should be possible to just or to the main driver.
- Think about these:
2) add flag to tell if writing is in general possible to the memory
