Can the Combobox be used with a page search library?

I'm thinking of using Pagefind's search API with Kobalte's combobox as the interface for accessibility purposes, but I'm not sure if it would work. I'd like to replace the Kobalte combobox search and filtering with the search function that Pagefind provides, but use the combobox to render items and allow for the up-and-down arrow key movement. Is this possible, or should I use some other Kobatle component, write it from scratch, or is there some other library that would fit better?
