After loading the txt file, (it's a txt document exported to whatsapp) when I click on the pre-processing button I get the error that is in the screenshot.

Hmm, what language of text are you trying to analyze?

You have to make UTF-8, Latin1, or ASCII text files, not UTF-16, to analyze it using KH Coder.

I saw my data, the automatic WhatsApp export delivers very dirty text, I am going to clean the text of emojis, forward slashes () and numbers, and I think that will solve the problem

In my experiences, Notepad++ was very useful in this situation.

Open the text file with Notepad++, click "Encoding", "Convert to ANSI", then save the file. Last time I got the same error with English language data, this procedure solved the problem.

Now it won't stop pre-processing when encoding error occurs. Instead, it assumes the text is in UTF-8 and just continues. d40826f

I tried with notepad ++, and it worked, however, I will take advantage right now and download the updated software
