Google Docs uses its own custom rich text editor instead of the standard rich text editor built into the browser. AVIM for Firefox had some hacky code to force Google Docs to recognize AVIM’s dead keys, but it broke earlier this year, even in the older versions of Firefox that supported legacy extensions like AVIM: 1ec5/avim#197.
For some reason I can type the name of a file in Google Docs, but not edit any content; it just ignores the Telex sequences.
