Using Mass Storage conveniently allows the device to be used without needing to install any custom software on the PC it is used with; however it sets a hard limit on the size of a file that can be transferred. Implementing a stream-based interface (e.g. USB CDC or a custom device class) would step around this problem, and would likely facilitate implementing #8.
