Help with speaker_group configuration

I have two echo devices which work great with mini-media-player directly and using Spotcast to call playlists, but I cannot seem to get their speaker groups configured properly. It renders properly in the UI, but when I select echo B under group management, I get "Failed to call service media_player/join. Entity media_player.echo_a does not support this service."

Since they're both on the same platform (media_player), shouldn't this work?

Here's my yaml:

I assume those are Amazon Echos? I don't see them listed as a supported platform for the speaker group feature of this card (unless they use one of the other listed platforms). But the generic media_player integration that you have selected as platform assumes that the devices support the media_player/join service, which they apparently do not, hence the error you see.

They are Echo devices which (as you suggested) are all media_player entities.

Perhaps I just need to be patient for Home Assistant to finish adding join/unjoin services according to sub-bullet (3):

3 HomeAssistant added join/unjoin services to the media_player. Future official integrations will implement these services (which are slightly different from the ones, which are already supported by this card) instead of implementing them in their own domain.

Is that how you read that?

Does the actual underlying integration / product (your Echos) support that speaker grouping feature?
