I understand from #29 and #41 you're not interested in publishing to F-Droid nor IzzyDroid at this time. However, I would like to suggest an alternative solution that would make the app more accessible to users who do not have Google accounts or who prefer not to use the Google Play Store.
Would it be possible to use GitHub's automated build infrastructure to publish the APK on the release page of the BirdNET repository? This would allow users to easily download and install the app without the need for a Google account, and would also make it easier for contributors to test and build upon the app.
I believe this would be a great way to make BirdNET more accessible to a wider audience, and I would be happy to help with the implementation if needed. Thank you for considering this request.
