Hmm I haven't really looked into adding support for Python 3; would be nice though.

I saw you have a branch for it (which I haven't tried yet). Is it python 2 and 3 compatible? Could it just directly replace the IPKISS Python 2 version; any issues?

We did this at some point (not shared on my branch),
but as you suggested to me at some point I adopted a gdspy-based workflow for speed improvement and usability
