Disable (cmp) completion

If I run :CmpStatus having installed cmp and cmp-nvim-lsp source I see nvim_lsp:null-ls aas one the completion sources.
How can disable null-ls cmp completion?

Here the author recommends to add something like

    if client.name == 'null-ls' then
        client.server_capabilities.completionProvider = false
    end

on the on_attach function. However that doesn't seem to work with null-ls? Thanks in advance

The snippet you listed works for me. It both hides null-ls from :CmpStatus and disables completion sources (if any are registered).

Hi! Thanks for the quick reply! Can you show me how is it that you use such snippet? I guess I might not be passing it correctly to null-ls setup?

It should be passed into an on_attach callback. If you are using a general on_attach for other LSP servers, you can add the snippet and pass that to null-ls' setup method. If you don't want to reuse a general on_attach, then you can write one just for null-ls:

require("null-ls").setup({
    on_attach = function(client)
        client.server_capabilities.completionProvider = false
    end,
})
