It appears that scientific name from iDigBio include both family and genus/ species name.
For instance this checklist includes
Poeciliidae Gambusia holbrooki
(see screenshot below). The expected name is Gambusia holbrooki .After some investigation it appears that the iDigBio archive (retrieved from https://s.idigbio.org/idigbio-static-downloads/idigbio.zip) has concatenated the family taxon name along with the genus/species name in the
scientificName
field. However, a record associated with the name http://api.idigbio.org/v1/records/009a5d8d-a094-4540-bd5b-7ca0c4599f6b did contain the expected name.Suspect that the generation of the iDigBio archive performs this (undesired) concatenation.
