Jhipster online wants to be user-friendly. Probably most users want to just choose the type of application, backend, frontend, database and test framework. Maybe a simplified "create application" can be created?
There, users just click on some tiles with the logos of the frameworks (and other/advanced option are in a separate tab). Then with just a few clicks (without dropdown and more technical options) (s)he can download the application. See mockup:
For the more advanced options (caching, authentication) an application (info box) can be added to explain about the various options.
