The min and max date setting does not affect the year switcher (when clicking on the 2015 in the dialog) at all. It would be nice to have the years where we can't select a date to be disabled are even better removed from that list. Right now you can select a date before the min date by first selecting the day one year later and then switching the year (with min date set to today):

Secondly, as you can see the grey disabled text seems to be only rendered for one year, so if you go to 25th July 2014, that date and all days till 31th December 2014 will still have the black text (though they are not clickable).
