Documentation

  • At some point during the workshop we need to do an in-depth discussion of how to approach documentation and tutorials. This includes work to be done to the web site in preparation for final 0.6 release.
  • Guidelines for the design of help patchers
    • Audio models: Gain at 0 dB and 100% wet by default
  • All help files should provide one or more cues demonstrating the capacities of the model.
    • The cues should ideally be in relative mode, but that would need to be "one level up" if the cue is administered by a cue model residing at the same level as the model(s) to be demonstrated. Would we want to introduce a /../ path for relative addresses?
  • Topics to be documented in tutorials
    • Initialisation: There are several parallel ways of initialising parameters in Jamoma (e.g. default attribute to j.parameter, default preset of model, default preset of model embedding another model, cues, and parameters set as attributes in the object box of the model instance (not sure if this one is implemented yet). We need to document the sequence of execution of these. This should also include the issue of mode priorities.
