Based on the poster, here are priorities for further work:

  1. Explain jittering better (disaggregate flows between MSOAs using a selection of randomised points on the local road network) - DONE

  2. Map residuals on fig 3, after tidying up OSM mismatches on minor roads - UPDATE mapped residuals but didn't fix issues related to dual carriageways as explained below

  3. Other major events - check out Stadium of Light or Utilita Arena matches/events

  4. Air pollution - further work could involve smoothing or a quadrant-based analysis

  5. EVs - mark will send me points to map

  6. Tidy up code, maybe speak to dustin about passing it on? - DONE

  7. Prepare final report (20 pages?) - UPDATE created a short report

These figures show residuals in mean daily vehicles from the ANPR cameras in Feb 2021.

There are very few cases of location data selecting the wrong roads, but many cases of dual carriageways where due to the routing methodology, the route network records major differences between traffic flows in either direction when in reality this would not be the case.
