Hi all,
Historically the capture and portrayal of non-standard light colours (including blue, orange etc) has led to issues. Non standard lights via S-52 specifications have not displayed properly and defaulted to Magenta. This issue was originally raised by @TomRichardson6 via a paper he presented at ENCWG4 back in 2019. The paper he presented was entitled 'Paper for Consideration by ENCWG4 - Blue Lights in S-52'.
For reference the paper can be viewed in the IHO Document Archive here: [https://iho-monaco.reisswolf.fit/browse/Content/Hydrographic%20Standards%20%26%20Services%20(HSSC)/ENCWG/ENCWG4%20Monaco%202019]
This is an issue for consideration post 2.0.0 but I thought it was worth adding to the GitHub for wider awareness.
Many thanks
Steve

My recollection here is that S-101 caters for blue lights in its data model (DCEG/FC), but these are portrayed as magenta based on the Portrayal Catalogue rules. My proposal here would be to open a Portrayal Sub-Group item to consider a change to the Portrayal Catalogue to show lights with a colour of blue or cyan as blue.
This would reflect S-4 B-470.4 a) ii) which refers to blue and cyan lights. So, there is only need to inform NCWG as this reflects S-4.
