According to Python Developer's Guide, as the python <= 3.6 has been unsupported, and the main stream linux distribution has already upgrade to python 3 by default, it's time to give up python 2 support and migrate to python 3.

Most of the changes were generated by 2to3 command.

Tested on python 3.9.2 & 3.5.3.

Hi! I’ve revived gitstats with Python 3 support in the repository: https://github.com/shenxianpeng/gitstats. Feel free to check it out if needed.
