If (like me) you are using CalDAV with a Synology NAS over a local network, it is surely not dependent on the cloud. Saying it is may put off some people who (again like me) are trying to get rid of cloud-based integrations.

Additional information

I am simply using CalDAV to synchronise calendars across several Android devices and my HA instance. Synchronising on Wi-Fi only, on a single named network, works perfectly well - HA never leaves the house!
