Story Description

GitHub has a feature called a template repository.
https://help.github.com/en/github/creating-cloning-and-archiving-repositories/creating-a-template-repository.
People can fork this repo but it appears as a new repo, not as a forked repository, with all the files included.

I want to make a Heroku-docker-r template repository so our customers can easily bootstrap their projects.

Helpful Context, Background

How do we test this feature so that we know that it is done?

  • Starter repo created; it can be used on Heroku as is

This is a pre-requisite to building GitBook end-user documentation.

I decided to make https://github.com/hmdc/heroku-docker-r-example-app a template.
