Could highlighting of self be made optional? #3

Hi,

I was wondering if it would be possible to add some way to turn off highlighting of self, seeing as it's not actually a builtin. I mean, obviously it has been included for a reason, but I personally would prefer not to have it highlighted, and I was wondering if this could be made optional.
