cannot install on a Thinkpad T440s #46

which iso did you install? |
I have tried 2 isos: hello-12.2-RELEASE-429e5b7-amd64.iso and hello-13.0-CURRENT-429e5b7-amd64.iso. Should I try another one? |
For now intel graphics broken on 12.2-RELEASE and 13.0-CURRENT as in #1 . |
ok. thanks any recommendations? |
The experimental ones should use initgfx to detect the GPU. Apparently it is not working with the T440s. Do you have the version with Intel HD 4400 or the version with Intel HD 4400 + NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M (Optimus)? |
The variant with only the integrated intel gpu
I also do not find another 12.1 iso available. is there any other?
|
no luck... :(
1 time got stuck on the freebsd logo, 2 times restarted the laptop
without reaching the installation screen.

Can you please repeat using the verbose mode? |
Hi, it seems I was trying with the normal 12.1 release, now I have fire it up the experimental and I can boot (normally) into the installer. |
Excellent. Thanks for letting us know. You can dual boot but you would have to do the installation manually, as our installer always formats the whole disk. We may change this once helloSystem/hello#61 gets implemented. Happy testing! |
wanted to install on my secondary machine to give it a spin, unfortunately the recognized display resolution is only 640x480 rendering the installation program useless: buttons are not visible...
I have tried to reconfigure Xorg with no success. I have tried to connect external monitors on both DisplayPort and VGA again with no success.
This is what, as a n00b, I could of think of.
I had no problem installing it in VirtualBos under Linux...
any ideas?
Thanks
