This looks like a neat project. I already keep lots of notes using similar, but not identical formats. Any chance you'd consider adding some kind of configuration option?
For reference, here are the two styles I use:
Dated:
## 2015-01-20 15:54
Entry goes here.
Second entry without timestamp
## 2015-01-20 16:03
Third entry with timestamp, etc.
Records:
- 2015-01-20 | Entry goes here
I use the former for chunks of prose and the latter for single line entries. I don't mix the two types in the same file. "Dated" files generally go from top to bottom, but not always. "Record" files are always alpha sorted.
(Oh, and I know that the second type is not standard, but until CommonMark establishes a standard for tables, I'm sticking to it :)

Thank you! Ah, that looks great! Definitely open to it; That said, I won't have any time to implement it in the nearest days, but if you do I'll merge you in! :)
PS: Now that I see this, I realise my markdown formatting is wrong, since I forgot adding an empty line between paragraphs as you did above! Will fix that asap!
