Is there any way to make it work in a spanish rom?

I'm not aware of a way myself, though I don't know much about Emerald. My patch is to the decompiled source, so someone wanting to do this would have to be able to compile the Spanish version of vanilla Emerald, and then apply my source patch on top of that.
