Hi @leohhhn Hall of Fame features to add to https://gno.land/r/leon/hof

The HoF can be a showcase of realms, and here are some suggestions of features to add to it

  • Add a functionality to calculate the most 'upvoted' realms so people can filter between the most popular realms and the most recently added
  • Can we add a time filter? i.e the top 3 realms this month
  • Is there a way to add packages to the HoF? That way we can have a community engagement score for the most community upvoted packages? Potentially, the beginnings of tracking adoption?
  • Add a description to the HoF page and a link to content on how someone registers to HoF
  • Upon registration to HoF, can people write a description of their realm to include? i.e XXX Home Realm, or challenge realm...etc. that will show up in the HoF home realm.

If we have the 'popularity' tracking we can use this as a way to say 'check out the top 3 realms voted by the community this month. Or 'insert namespace' created this package added it to the HoF and it was used/deployed X times on-chain and voted by X community members this month.

Hi @michelleellen @leohhhn ,

Nice idea to brainstorm around it, especially because it could make sense IMO) to have HoF (or similar content) as explore page in gnoweb. Here is a list of few ideas I have to enhance the HoF and make it more engaging and functional, turning it into a true showcase of the most notable realms.

Currently, the HoF displays realms with basic information like the path, submission number, author, link, submission block, and upvote/downvote counts. To improve it, here are some suggestions:

  1. Add Realm Titles and Descriptions

    • Suggestion: Allow realm creators to provide a descriptive title and a brief description of their realm upon submission. cf this issue I created ([gnoweb] add metadata to md content #3333)
    • Benefit: This gives users more context about each realm, making it easier to understand the purpose and content of the realm at a glance. We could also retrieve user profil picture once username space will be finalized.
  2. Introduce Categories / Tags

    • Suggestion: Implement a system where realms can be assigned to categories or tagged with keywords (e.g., games, utilities, education).
    • Benefit: Categories and tags help users discover realms based on their interests and facilitate better organization of content within the HoF.
  3. Enhanced Sorting and Filtering Options

    • Suggestion: Provide users with the ability to sort and filter realms based on different criteria such as most upvoted, newest, category (see above), or author....
    • Benefit: Improves user experience by making it easier to find specific realms or explore new ones based on personal preferences.
  4. Search Functionality

    • Suggestion: Add a search bar to enable users to search for realms by name, author, or keywords in the description.
    • Benefit: Enhances navigability, allowing users to quickly find realms they are interested in without scrolling through the entire list. However, that can be redundant with the main searchbar we will implement into gnoweb.
  5. Display Additional Realm Information

    • Suggestion: Include more details such as metadata, vanity metrics, number of views, usage stats etc.
    • Benefit: Provides users with more insights into the activity and popularity of each realm, aiding in their decision to explore further.
  6. Realm Logos or Thumbnails

    • Suggestion: Allow realm authors to upload an image or logo representing their realm.
    • Benefit: Adds a visual element to the HoF, making it more engaging and helping realms stand out.
  7. Featured Realms Section

    • Suggestion: Similar to Michelle idea, this would be to create a section to highlight featured realms but also by category or interest, possibly selected by the community (or gov??).
    • Benefit: Promotes high-quality or innovative realms, encouraging authors to produce cool content. Help user find and DISCOVER the best realms for their dedicated needs AND interests.
  8. User Comments or Reviews

    • Suggestion: Allow users to leave comments or reviews on realms.
    • Benefit: Facilitates community interaction, providing valuable feedback to realm authors and helping users make informed decisions.
  9. Guidelines and Help Content

    • Suggestion: Include a dedicated section or md file with guidelines on how to submit a realm, best practices, and FAQs.
    • Benefit: Help new users in participating in the right way.
  10. Leaderboard and Achievements

    • Suggestion: Implement a link of leaderboards for top realms and authors, and introduce achievement badges (little gamification).
    • Benefit: Encourages friendly competition and rewards active contributors, increasing overall engagement.

@alexiscolin I love all of these ideas. These would definitely make it more dynamic and an ecosystem showcase.
