VS Code is using git clean when discarding changes in the Source Control view. Over the years we have received multiple reports of users mistakenly invoking this action and even through we display a modal dialog warning about data loss, users still end up confirming the action resulting in data loss. VS Code does have a local history feature that can help with recovering some data but it would be nice if git clean would support a flag that would place the files in the recycle bin.
