@aaarendt and I (@emiliom) have been in communication with people from OGC about ways they can support GeoHackWeek. We had a first call on 2019-1-23 with Luis Bermudez (@bermud) and George Percivall from OGC, and a follo-up on 2019-3-5 again with Luis and George.
The discussions are in no way limited to vector data, but since this is "my" repo, I'm creating this issue to collect some notes in a way that's openly accessible to everyone.
OGC e-Learning - Very nice learning and reference resource (as Sphinx docs) on OGC standards! Includes access to live OGC web services demo servers. The source materials (mainly in .rst) are at https://github.com/opengeospatial/e-learning
https://github.com/earthserver-eu/OGC_WCS_tutorial - Nice WCS demos using Jupyter notebooks and ECWMF model output. It does have a bit of Python, but most the materials shows WCS access via composing URLs for the requests, or using via clients such as QGIS.
Follow-up from Luis:
