Improve the homework with the following:

  • add questions to query their physical intuition for why correlation exists.
  • add questions about data characteristics (e.g., distributions and basic stats).
  • improve the data prep stage not to remove too many outliers or find another data sets with more points! There should be 400 usable glaciers.
  • Provide more hints on using the log transformed data for the regression.
  • Ask them for common sense checks for their output values. For instance, given the high correlations/anticorrelations, what do they expect to see in the regression slope after resampling?
