Scrabble

📑 About this Project

The idea for this project came from a word game. In this game, each player receives a set of letters and must decide which word formed with those letters will account for the largest number of points.

📚 Functionality

  • Find the word with the highest score in a given set of letters.
  • Displays all characters that have not been used to construct the word.

♟️ Logic

The logic of the program is based on going through a Trie in search of finding all possible words that can be formed with the characters entered. After all the words have been found, the algorithm goes through a refinement phase, in which the selected words are validated and those that do not respect the frequency of characters are discarded. After this refinement, the score count is made, in which each letter that makes up the word is verified to assign the final score and after calculating the value of all words, the word with the highest score is returned.

🚀 Build With

  • Android Studio - An integrated development environment for developing an Android platform.
  • Kotlin - Is a multiplatform programming language, object oriented and functional, concisely and statically typed, which compiles for the Java Virtual Machine and which can also be translated into JavaScript and compiled into native code.
  • Java - Java is an object-oriented programming language, unlike modern programming languages, which are compiled for native code, the Java language is compiled for a bytecode that is interpreted by a virtual machine.
