PDF rendering performance issues

I know this probably belongs to chrome / electron but i want to know if someone is facing the same issue.

PDF rendering it's really fast as long as the document doesnt contain large images. If you print a A4 with a small image, no problem, but if the A4 is fill with a large image, the render time goes from 1s to 10s. We've tried rendering the document at 0.5x scale, and resizing it after the pdf has been generated and it indeed improve render time, but the final pdf has a image embed with half of the resolution.

Any tips?
